Verdansk is officially coming back to Warzone and Activision have given us our first glimpse at the OG map. They’ve also revealed plenty of the items and weapons set to return, alongside leaks, so here’s what we know so far.

Verdansk is going to launch in Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3, on April 3 – almost five years to the day since we first got to drop in on the iconic map.

It was reported on February 24 that a number of content creators have playtested Verdansk, with different map elements, traversal systems, and more, implying that developers Raven Software have been trying to nail down how they can bring Verdansk back perfectly.

POIs

The latest leaks are that Verdansk will return very similar to how it was originally at launch in March 2020.

However, according to those leaks, there will be some changes. For example, Stadium will be opened – which didn’t happen until Modern Warfare 2019 Season 5 – but the roof will be closed.

We should also expect to see the interior of Train Station closed, while the train system will be running, which wasn’t the case at launch.

Weapons

The first trailer for Verdank’s confirmed that three iconic weapons will be added to Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 3: the Kilo 141 and CR-56 AMAX assault rifles, as well as the HDR sniper. This trio dominated the map when it first launched in MW (2019), so it’s no surprise that they’re also returning at the same time.

Leaks have also mentioned that the Grau 5.56 is making a comeback, but this was nowhere to be seen in the video. However, it’s possible that it’s being saved for a future update, potentially the mid-season patch which usually introduces at least one additional gun.

Features, skins and more

One of the biggest surprises from the reveal was that bunkers are seemingly making a comeback. A brief shot showed a code made up of numbers, the exact same combination that used to open the bunker close to Boneyard.

These hidden silos were full of rare loot for those who managed to open them and they could single handedly set you up for victory, so players will be delighted to see them included.

It was also suggested that the Roze skin, which frustrated players to no end back in the Verdansk days, could be making a comeback. The ‘Rook’ outfit for Roze became infamous when it was released due to it being virtually invisible in dark areas, and it quickly became associated with sweaty players.

One iconic skin that has been confirmed is Modern Warfare’s Domino, who can be seen holding the HDR in the reveal trailer.

While no leaks have strictly said either way, there have also been conversations around the use of Redeployment Balloons in Warzone, and whether they should be brought into Verdansk, with players incredibly split on the topic.

As the rumored launch date continues to get closer, there will inevitably be more leaks and, perhaps, some confirmed changes coming straight from Raven or Activision themselves. If not, though, the Season 3 start date isn’t far off now.
